I'm home from Cardiff, Wales where I attended the Iris Prize Festival 2008 (pictured above). Two of my films, ROCK POCKETS and DINX, were in competition. I had an amazing time, hung out with DINX actor Nick Green (pictured, top left) who was coincidentally in the UK, met several wonderful filmmakers, saw a lot of terrific, inspiring film, was brilliantly hosted by an army of staff, volunteers and "Friends of Iris", and have come home feeling ready to rethink everything I do, in the best way possible.

In a festival dominated by traditional narrative film, the jury went out of their way to commend ROCK POCKETS with an Honourable Mention for Experimental Film. This thrills me!

The Iris Prize went to COWBOY by Till Kleinert (pictured, in black leather jacket). If I'd been on the jury, it would've had my vote for sure. To all my curating friends: I have a screener! Show this movie to Canada!

So, hooray for Cardiff, and bear with me while I spend some time wondering, "Now what?"
