They like us! They really like us!

Some nominations have come in and we couldn't be more honoured.
First, Dirt City filmmaker Trevor Anderson is short-listed for the Lindalee Tracey Award. This award has been created by the colleagues, friends and family of Lindalee Tracey, to commemorate the life and legacy of this multidisciplinary artist who passed away last year after a five year battle with breast cancer. The idea is to find emerging Canadian filmmakers who "work in the spirit of Lindalee - with passion, humour, a strong sense of social justice and a personal point of view." And hell, if that's not a compliment, we dunno what is. The four short-listed Canadian filmmakers will be flown to Toronto for a ceremony on April 27, 2007 at The Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival, and Trevor is super-eager to meet the other artists and to learn about their work.
Meanwhile, a warm wind has blown in from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, carrying the news that our latest short film "Rock Pockets" (pictured above) has been nominated for three Golden Sheaf Awards at the Yorkton Short Film & Video Festival. These honours come in the categories of Documentary Short Subject; Original Music - Nonfiction; and Overall Sound - Nonfiction. Zowee!
